Rep. Mike Johnson has been re-elected as Speaker of the House in a first round vote. Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY), was the only Republican to vote against Johnson in the end, after Reps. Keith Self, R-Texas and Ralph Norman, R-S.C., first voted for someone else but then switched their vote to support Rep. Johnson. The win for Johnson comes amid threats by Republicans to deny him over his handling of government funding and other issues.
