President Biden nailed this one

Whenever a Democratic administration wants to provide aid to any group of people, Republicans like to turn this into a nonsensical attack on whoever it is – demanding to know why they aren’t spending the same amount of money (something they always like to portray as too big) on veterans.

When the administration was welcoming Ukrainian refugees last year, for example, Republicans demanded to know why it wasn’t being as generous to homeless veterans. The obvious problem, of course, is that Republicans truly don’t care about veterans and never have – it’s just another part of their feigned patriotism. They’ve never even bothered to introduce legislation that takes care of this.

Fortunately, President Biden and his administration have been quietly taking care of this problem from day one – and last year, the Department of Veterans Affairs put over 40,401 homeless vets into permanent housing, while they’re well on track to meet their goal of housing over 38,000 more in the year 2023.

The administration has also announced another $3 billion in funding with the priority of tackling homelessness for veterans. Even while we’re dealing with a roguish right-wing SCOTUS, this administration is very much dedicated to helping improve the lives of millions of people – that’s why we should stand firmly behind President Biden in 2024.
