  • Netflix released a report outlining viewing totals for its titles from January to June 2023.
  • It’s the most comprehensive report of its kind that Netflix has released to date.
  • Here are the 10 most-watched seasons of TV on the platform in the first half of the year, per Netflix.

Netflix, a company known for its leveraging of data, has released its most detailed viewership report to date — and its top-ranking shows may surprise you.

In a December press release, the platform announced that it would publish biannual engagement reports on what viewers watched on Netflix. The first “What We Watched: A Netflix Engagement Report” tracked title performance from January to June 2023.

The data, which includes over 18,000 titles, includes the number of hours each was viewed in a six month time period, whether or not it was available to stream globally, and when it premiered. According to Netflix, the titles in the report reflect 99% of all viewing on the platform, and total close to 100 billion hours of watch time. If you want to check it out yourself, you can download the full set here.

Netflix’s data also breaks out titles by their individual seasons — so some, like “Ginny & Georgia,” appear in the data multiple times. We’ve reflected that distinction below as well.
