Israel strikes southern Lebanon as Hezbollah leader warns ‘red lines’ crossed

Israel says it has struck dozens of Hezbollah sites in Lebanon in an intensifying bombing campaign as it focuses its military’s attention northwards. The militant group’s leader says the deadly synchronised explosions of its devices crossed all red lines. Also on the programme: the EU is providing €10bn ($11bn) to rebuild towns and infrastructure in central and eastern Europe devastated by Storm Boris; and children in Sweden will start school a year earlier in an overhaul of an education system that famously favoured play over formal learning.
