China imposes sanctions on US military companies for selling weapons to Taiwan

China has imposed sanctions on seven United States military companies and their executives. The move was made because of military aid and arms sales to Taiwan, according to the Global Times.

The agency reminds that the United States recently announced significant military assistance to Taiwan, which, according to the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, seriously violates the one-China principle.

Beijing’s sanctions were imposed against:

• Insitu Inc;
• Hudson Technologies Co;
• Saronic Technologies, Inc;
• Raytheon Canada;
• Raytheon Australia;
• Aerkomm Inc;
• Oceaneering International, Inc;

“Their movable and immovable properties and other kinds of assets within China shall be frozen. All organizations and individuals within China shall be prohibited from engaging in transaction, cooperation and other activities with them, read the statement,” the Global Times added.

Relations between China and the United States

Relations between the United States and the People’s Republic of China (PRC) remain complex and tense, covering areas such as trade, politics, security, and technology.
